Canvas Gradebook and SpeedGrader

As of this morning 11 LCCC faculty have earned their training badge for completing the live webinar featuring the Canvas Gradebook and SpeedGrader! SpeedGrader allows faculty to view and grade student submissions from the same window. It also provides the ability to mark up submissions, leave audio and/or video response, and use a rubric for scoring student work. This tool simplifies the grading workflow AND allows for grading on mobile devices! View a SpeedGrader introduction online.

CET is hosting the Gradebook and SpeedGrader webinar Friday 03.09 from 11:30 - 12:30. RSVP today to reserve your spot; seats are limited!

LCCC Faculty have earned training badges in all of the webinars shown above.

  1. The speed grader will make this often tedious task more efficient. You can also easily leave audio and video feedback, and the student is notified when you post feedback right on their dashboard for all of their classes, so hopefully they actually might review your feedback.

  2. For you paper-heavy instructors (English, History, Philosophy, Psychology, etc.), speed grader is a HUGE time saver! Gone are the days of downloading a paper, saving it to a location on your computer or flash drive, marking it up and re-saving that copy, then uploading it back into the LMS for a student to view. With speed grader, you can mark up the paper on the fly while leaving comments directly on the paper, in the comments box, or audio or video feedback. Grading might actually become "fun" again!

  3. You're right Trent! I've been playing with annotating student submissions in SpeedGrader and it works like a charm! I can even use the Teacher app to grade on the iPad. While that might not put the "fun" back into grading, it sure allows me to grade in places where I wasn't able to before.

    Canvas Rocks!
