How to set up a reflective journal activity in Canvas

Canvas does not have a dedicated journal tool. However, it is possible to create functionality using Canvas assignments or discussions to provide students a place to submit their reflections.

These tools provide some of the features of a private journal:

• Private - Each student sees only his or her own post
• Recurring - The student is able to submit the assignment several times.
• Allow Feedback - The instructor is able to comment back on each student post.
