Updates to Close Out 2018

Canvas has new features and the Faculty Handbook has been updated. Before you close the door on Fall 2018 take a look at these changes for Spring:

• Recent Canvas updates include a customizable Dashboard and improved accessibility for the recorder.
  
  • Rearrange the tiles on your Dashboard by selecting the Move option from the kabob.
  • The audio recorder in the Rich Content Editor is now html5 enabled when using Chrome and Firefox. This new recorder is also embedded in the Instructor feedback options.
• The LCCC Faculty Handbook now includes the Grade Change Form and the Incomplete Contract. The Handbook is available to all faculty via myLCCC.
• Finally, posts you’ll want to revisit as you plan for Spring:

1. Spring 2019 Canvas Tips and Tricks – Take a look at the start of the semester checklist and find guidance on copying and/or importing course content into your Spring shells.
2. Take a look at Student Performance – The Analytics Beta tool in Canvas highlights learner behaviors to help inform instructional decisions.
3. More than Grades in Canvas! – The Student Interactions report and the Access report reveals metrics such as page visits, participation counts, and ungraded submissions. These are super helpful overviews for instructors!
4. Explore Professional Development Resources from EDUCAUSE and Professional Development Opportunities at your Disposal! – Both posts are loaded with searchable compilations on a wide range of topics. Looking for rubric help? Want to reconsider assessment? Looking to connect with peers in your field from around the country? All of these and more are available in these posts.
