Microsoft Teams is a cloud-based app available throughout LCCC as part of the Office 365 Suite. The CET is one of the early adopters of Teams and has been fully using the app since May 2019. The Teams architecture includes:
- A new Office 365 group
- A SharePoint online site and document library
- An Exchange online shared mailbox and calendar
- A OneNote notebook
Depending on your group’s setup, Teams can be created from an existing group and that group’s membership, SharePoint site, mailbox and notebook are integrated into Teams.
If you’re using Skype for Business you’ll want to migrate over to Teams. Teams is now the primary unified communications client in Office 365 starting September 1, 2019. Teams includes a fully integrated voice and video meeting experience and chat with more functionality that will be continually updated. Skype will reach end of life July 2021.
