Kick off the Year in Canvas!

There are lots of details to consider in getting your courses off to a great start and Canvas is an important one. The Canvas tools shared during In-Service provide an excellent foundation for a successful beginning. Which of these have merit in your courses?

• Roll Call Attendance | This is a more robust attendance tracker than what you may have seen previously. Roll Call allows for both graded and ungraded attendance and can be set to score for tardiness as well. Attendance can be recorded in the mobile Canvas Teacher app as well, making it appealing for those faculty who track attendance but have a need to do so outside of the traditional classroom. • Canvas Semester Checklist | This CET-developed resource is a great punch list to confirm that your courses are ready to be viewed by students. Download Checklist.
• Online Introduction to Canvas | This self-paced course was designed to orient students to Canvas and to provide a limited experience in working with the tools inherent in the learning management system. Encourage your students to self-enroll to join the community of more than 230 students who have enrolled previously. Faculty are welcome to join as well!
